Derbi and Vespa Grillo

Just got in a 25th anniversary Derbi Aventura.  Says 5 speed but it is variated-I think it was a weird gimmick.  Has leovince pipe, polini it, front disc brake, and carb.  It is a ks start three motor?-its the short stroke.  I need to get a chain but fired right up, its sort of like a beefed up newer DS50.

Also got a sweet teal Vespa Grillo, weirdest little vespa I have seen yet.

My camera isn't working right now, I will get pics with the kindle or laptop in the daylight eventually.  These pics show the color schemes on the bikes.  pretty sure the derbi or something else will go up for trade or sale soon.

I just like junk oddball bikes.  Good chance the Derbi will need to find a new home in the near future if anyone likes really fast well built derbi scooters.

the start 3 came before the start 5 (duh) and the only thing that was changed between the two is that the start 5 has the 40mm stroke (same as a flat reed) and the start 3 has a shorter stroke (I believe it's 37.8mm but I could be wrong).  they share the same transmission setup (scooter clutch/bell/variator/etc).

pretty cool bike ya got there declan.

You are right about the stroke.  Essentially a Start 5 other than that I believe.  Rare polini kit made for it.  I have high hopes for top speed, I need a damn chain.-One was supposed to cum with the bike but it seems to have been lost in transit.  The "5 speed automatic" was a sales gimick for the vario I suppose, sort of funny thing to do.

actual pic of grillo.  tank is from a ciao, frame and wheels are specific to the bike, ciao forks, si subframe.
