Golden Bullet lives!
« on: April 28, 2010, 03:18:58 pm »
I got my first two smoke running!   With a ton of help Sam of course, thanks buddy.   Had to swap out the engine, the original a3 has some issue with the pedal ratchet where the pedals don't spin the engine.   Its piggy, slow, and doesn't want to start easy when cold, but it runs!   Maybe an a35 for the future, but first I am going to see what a carb, port, and exhaust work will do.

Sig changed!   I will see if I can get an intake fabbed up for the kei hein or whatever carb I have.

I lied.  I have that honda spree here that is also two stroke.  So this is my second one.   Big steps for a boy that grew up rebuilding briggs engines.

I need another crank pin to ride it, it can barely get up hills without really giving it some foot help.   Carb needs cleaning or maybe upjetting.  Maybe I can tear down the carb after class, I aint doing shit this afternoon.

Crank pin ... like the pedal arm pin? You can use a bolt in a pinch. That's what I've got on the Dangermos, anyway, and it's staying together better now than it ever did with the proper bolt. Have you changed the transmission fluid yet? I hear a lot of people say that for low-end problems.

Tranny fluid is good.  It is just bogging down on the hills, almost to a stop even in first gear.

I will just get a bolt, that will do fine I am sure. Pedal arm = crank, but for mopeds I guess there is another crank on there too :D  Looks like an m8 or something, I will just bring the crank (pedal arm) to westlakes with me.

Forgot that the crank is missing the flywheel pin, so I will try to weld a little ball on there to keep the flywheel from rotating on the shaft.

After school!  Did a big presentation today and was all nervous but I reckon I did well.

Mow the grass, straighten the back yard, then I will go to the hardware store and tear into the Bullet again.  Maybe run some Sea Foam through it.

Didn't have enough time to drop the engine and clean the carb, but I did manage to get it started with some starting spray.  Sam's magic touch works wonders lol.

Got a Dell Orto carb here that just needs some love and intake to fit, big thanks to RK for being a packrat.

Once I get that sucker hooked up, how about something like this?  http://www.treatland.tv/tomos-tecno-estoril-performance-pipe-a35-p/tomos-tecno-estoril-pipe.htm

Thats a bitch!   Might as well just weld up something crappy myself if I have to work on that pipe when new.
